EY’s Think Tank for Business Performance & Innovation

EY’s Think Tank for Business Performance & Innovation, established in 2008, continues to thrive. It has proven to be an excellent networking platform for competency and sector insights as it connects our highly motivated EY professionals globally and on a regional level with external lighthouses. The Think Tank’s collaborative environment is designed to stimulate innovation.

At the heart of the Think Tank lies Performance journal, a quarterly business publication with an established reputation as a forum for discussing practical as well as theoretical business issues. Offering a mix of articles and case studies, Performance journal is designed to get right to the heart of the challenges businesses face. It offers strategies and solutions relevant to companies and governmental institutions. Performance has already become a success story in its own right, with global distribution to leading business executives and academics.

"Thought must be divided against itself before it can come to any knowledge of itself."

Aldous Huxley (1894–1963),
English author: ‘Wordsworth in the Tropics’,
Do What You Will (1929)

Performance has also been launched in six other languages with regional content specifically aimed at the local market in China, Russia, Japan, Brazil, France and Germany. Performance is a fast-growing platform for developing and sharing intellectual capital with its synthesis of leading business practice and applied academic research.

EY’s Think Tank for Business Performance & Innovation

In 2012, we continue to offer “SomeThinkNew,” our Think Tank Webcast series where invited speakers present new ideas which are then discussed by the community. The platform allows us to share ideas and views on leading management practices, as well as some of the more interesting projects in which the speakers have been involved. Guest speakers from academia and industry participate in each call, bringing their external perspectives to the discussion. Podcasts of these calls are available for download on our main site:

  • Think Tank for Business Performance & Innovation: “Enterprise Intelligence: Business Model Innovation – just a buzzword?” (August 2013)
  • Think Tank for Business Performance & Innovation: “Enterprise Intelligence: Analysing Predictive Analytics” (April 2013)
  • Think Tank for Business Performance & Innovation: “Competitive Intelligence vs. Industrial Espionage: Illegal, Legal, Equal” (January 2013)
  • “Enterprise Intelligence: Why consider social media?” (November 2012)
  • “Enterprise Intelligence: In-memory Computing: From Big Data to Quick Data” (September 2012)
  • “Enterprise Intelligence: Managing big data – How do YOU fuel your intelligence?” (March 2012)

Moreover, in early 2013, the first batch of our Think Tank-initiated studies will be published. The studies, conducted in collaboration with academic lighthouses around the globe, aim to close the gap between theory and practice. They harness EY’s expertise and experience, providing in-depth business and industry insights.

The web portal is an open platform designed to amplify Performance activities and connect to a wider audience. All Think Tank-generated content, including articles and case studies published in Performance journal, is accessible through the portal.

The Think Tank for Business Performance & Innovation embodies the core characteristics of EY’s Global Advisory practice in its drive to foster innovation, performance and sustainability – all in support of our ultimate goal of “Quality In Everything We Do.”
